1. Can my gas vehicle use Earth Friendly fuels?

All Diesel engines can use cleaner-burning Bio-Diesel fuels. Every diesel vehicle can use a blend of biodiesel and petroleum diesel. The two fuels can be blended together in any ratio. Check you owner’s manual for the recommend percentage of bio-Diesel you can use in your vehicle. Some manufactures will give a % of bio-diesel they allow, to keep you vehicle within warranty specification. We have blends available of:

  • B-2 Diesel (2% biodiesel for all diesel vehicles
  • B-5 Diesel (5% biodiesel) for all diesel vehicles
  • B-10 Diesel (10% biodiesel) for all diesel vehicles
  • B-20 Blend (20% biodiesel) for all diesel vehicles
  • B-100 (100% biodiesel) for most diesel vehicles with simple precaution

2. Can I switch back and forth from Earth Friendly fuels to fuel from other stations? Does my tank have to be empty before switching over?

You can switch back and forth between Earth Friendly fuels and other stations. Your tank does not have to be empty to fill with bio-fuels.

3. What are the benefits of using Earth Friendly fuels?

Lower emissions. – The average car emits 12,100 pounds per year of carbon dioxide. (CO2 is a greenhouse gas).
By switching to cleaner burning, Earth Friendly, bio-fuel-blended fuels:

  • Any Gas or Flexfuel Vehicle using E10 Gasoline reduce CO2 emissions by up to 7%
  • FlexFuel vehicles using E20 Gasoline reduce CO2 emissions by up to 14%
  • FlexFuel vehicles using E30 Gasoline reduce CO2 emissions by up to 21%
  • FlexFuel vehicles using E85 ethanol reduce CO2 emissions by up to 59%
  • Earth Friendly fuels are cleaner burning and produce “contemporary carbon” that is recycled year-to-year. Plants grow, pulling carbon from the atmosphere; they are turned into Biofuel and burned, releasing carbon that is then absorbed during the next growing cycle. Petroleum fuels release carbon into the atmosphere that was previously stored underground; fossil fuels cannot recycle their carbon.

Cleaner. Ethanol has a higher octane and cleans out fuel systems (E10 Gasoline has an octane rating of 89; E85 ethanol has an octane rating of 105).

Local. And domestic production of fuel increases energy security and helps the domestic economy, keeping dollars at home and creating jobs.

4. Gas vehicles: understanding fuel blend options

Every gas vehicle can use an Earth Friendly fuels blend. All cars can use E10 Gasoline. Flex Fuel Vehicles can use E85 ethanol and can be identified by looking at your vehicle owner’s manual, checking with your dealer or looking on our web site. Using Earth Friendly fuels decreases emissions, lessening global warming. It also increases Octane and cleans out sediment from the fuel system.

E-10 Gasoline is the fuel blend for most cars. Earth Friendly fuels E-10 is a plus-grade gasoline that delivers better performance and decreases carbon dioxide emissions by about 7%. For the average driver, that is a decrease of about 1,000 pounds of CO2 per year, with an Octane rating of 89!

E-20 Earth Friendly fuels E-20 is a plus-grade for FlexFuel vehicles that delivers better performance and decreases carbon dioxide emissions by about 14%. For the average driver, that is a decrease of about 2,000 pounds of CO2 per year, with an Octane rating of 91!

E-30 Earth Friendly fuels E-30 is a plus-grade for FlexFuel vehicles that delivers better performance and decreases carbon dioxide emissions by about 21%. For the average driver, that is a decrease of about 3,000 pounds of CO2 per year, with an Octane rating of 93!

E-85 Earth Friendly fuel is a great way for Flexible Fuel Vehicle owners to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and support energy security. Using E85 will decrease carbon dioxide emissions by about 59%. For the average driver, that is a decrease of about 6,700 pounds of CO2 per year. By using 85% renewable fuel, the average driver decreases his/her petroleum usage by about 432 gallons per year.

2. Do I need a conversion kit to use Earth Friendly Biodiesel?

Diesel vehicles do not need a conversion kit to use Biodiesel fuel.
*Precaution- Biodiesel fuel is an excellent cleaner; it will clean your fuel system and tank. If you have a dirty fuel system, you may have to change fuel filters as your fuel system is cleaned. Once your fuel system is clean, you will have a better performing engine.

3. Can I switch back and forth from Earth Friendly Biodiesel to other stations? Does my tank have to be empty before switching over?

You can switch back and forth between Earth Friendly Biodiesel and other stations. Earth Friendly Biodiesel cleaner burning bio-fuel blends will mix with any diesel in your fuel tank. You can fuel with any other diesel at any time.

4. What are the benefits of using Earth Friendly Biodiesel?

Lower emissions. The average car emits 12,100 pounds per year of carbon dioxide. (CO2 is a greenhouse gas).
By using Earth Friendly Biodiesel cleaner burning, bio-fuel blended fuels

  • Diesel vehicles using B-2 Diesel reduce CO2 emissions by up to 1.5%
  • Diesel vehicles using B-5 Diesel reduce CO2 emissions by up to 3.9%
  • Diesel vehicles using B-10 Diesel reduce CO2 emissions by up to 7.8%
  • Diesel vehicles using B-20 Blend reduce CO2 emissions by up to 15.6%
  • Diesel vehicles using B-100 Biodiesel reduce CO2 emissions by up to 78%
  • All Bio-fuel is cleaner burning and produces “contemporary carbon” that is recycled year-to-year. 5. Diesel Vehicles: understanding fuel blend options

Every diesel vehicle can use a Biodiesel blend. All vehicles can use B-2 Diesel thru B-20 Blend. With some precautions, some vehicles can use B-100 Biodiesel. Check you owner’s manual for the recommend percentage of bio-Diesel you can use in your vehicle. Some manufactures will give a % of bio-diesel they allow, to keep you vehicle within warranty specification. Using Biodiesel decreases emissions and lessens global warming. It also increases cetane (the diesel version of octane) and increases lubricity, keeping your engine running smoothly.

6. Does using Earth Friendly fuels void my warranty? Does the use of biodiesel void my warranty?

About Warranties

Whether or not a biodiesel blend is “recommended” is separate from the question of whether the use of biodiesel affects engine warranty coverage. Manufacturer warranties do not cover fuel, whether it’s regular diesel, ultra low sulfur diesel or biodiesel. Warranties only cover the manufacturers’ own workmanship and materials.

According to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, “OEMs provide a material and workmanship warranty on their products. In general, use of a particular fuel should have no effect on the materials and workmanship warranty. Such warranties do not cover damage caused by external conditions, such as fuel. Thus, if an engine using biodiesel experiences a failure unrelated to the biodiesel use, it must be covered by the OEM’s warranty. Federal law prohibits the voiding of a warranty just because biodiesel was used – it has to be the cause of the failure.2 If an engine experiences a failure caused by biodiesel (or any other external condition, such as bad petroleum diesel fuel), it will not be covered by the OEM’s warranty.”
